RTL2.2 and aic7xxx

  Hi,
  
    I am having problems with the new release, RTL2.2, and the
SCSI driver for Adaptec, aic7xxx (in kernel 2.2.14 - Mandrake
7.0).

    I applied the patches with minor problems in one Makefile
and in "arch/i386/defconfig", and all seemed fine: make, make
modules, etc. However, when the system boots, I get a "Kernel
panic" message saying...

   Checking filesystems
   ...
   Mounting local filesystems
   Kernel panic: aic7xxx: AWAITING_MSG for an SCB that does
      not have a waiting message.
   In swapper task - not syncing
   
   The exact same source, with the same .config (except for
CONFIG_RTL, of course) runs fine.
   
   Any ideas?  Thanks a lot,
