Minimal RT kernel + Networking + PowerPC
Does any documentation exist on how to configure and port an embedded
networked version of rtlinux to a unique PowerPC board? No local
secondary storage. This would be a minimal embedded soft real-time RTOS
using rtlinux?
Essentially, the system would have a PowerPC 603e processor, memory
controller, timer, and interrupt controller and nothing else (can't do
much useful with this system!). It would be debugged using a back door
into the processor (JTAG/COP port). This is the minimal reusable
component. Then, TCP/IP would be added with an Ethernet network I/O
driver. (It could have a serial interface for the console I/O, if
absolutely necessary.)
Any idea on how much effort (man days) it would take to create a stable
version of this initial TCP/IP networked RTOS for MPC603e?
