As part of the book, I'd like a "minimum requirements" table for the
various real-time Linux Systems. Rather than impose my view on the
world, I'd call for input from the community. Please feel free to
send me a mail about what you think the minimum requirements are ... I'll
summarize later for the list. Here are some questions you might like to
consider ...
For each system (RTLinux, RTAI, KURT, RED-Linux, SMART, Linux/RK), what
*kernel* is required for what variant patch?
What is the hardware platform? (Is it all x86 and lookalikes?)
What is the minimum memory requirement?
What is the minimum disk requirement?
What is the minimum processor requirement (type, speed etc)?
Is a FPU *required*?
Is a MMU *required*?
Anything else a potential user should know?
In your response, please be specific about the system you are answering
for .... clearly miniRTL/miniRTAI will have different requirements from
other systems.
Thanks in advance for your input.
