I'm with Victor on this.  We looked at Mach, 2.5 years ago for about 3
months to see if we could use it as an RTOS.  We even had Mklinux DR3
running on x86.  I have to say it was a miserable experience, and the
timing guarantees were very poor (I saw one report for the PA-RISC
version that had occasional blips up to 500 milliseconds if my memory
serves).  IMHO the only Linux real-time implementations that give
guarantees at the 30 usec range are RTLinux/RTAI.
