AFAIK, there aren't any 2.4.8 patches for rtl 3.0.  I actually am not even
sure 3.0 works with any 2.4 kernels (does it?).  You might want to try rtl
v3.1 and get the 2.4.4 kernel that it works with.  Do you really need the
2.4.8 kernel?
