If you talking about filesystem only, kernel 2.1 include romfs but doesn't
include stuff to manage a flash (not yet). Me and some friends have a
flash block device driver project for Linux (not just RTLinux) for Teknor
Industrial Computers cards. But, we will be able to work on only in june.
This driver must will probably be able to drive all intel base flash
chips.

For a card like Teknor one, you may acces flash dirrectly without drivers,
I do some (working) test with a bash script and a little C program call
port that acces /dev/port to do io acces and a little C program call mem
that acces /dev/mem in the same way.
