[rtl] Interested In IRQ Examples...

Does anyone have simple examples of how-to implement IRQ's with RT-Linux?
There is one with rt-linux 0.6 called measurement, but there is no
documentation inside or outside of the code.

Basically I am looking for something that will enable me to send a message
to a fifo everytime the timer irq goes off 1000 times.  Have a linux task
read that message and display on screen and shut everything down.
