[rtl] Problems with RTL & IDE HardDrive
Hi all
Does anyone have the problem with IDE drives and RTL tasks?
It seems that any RTL kernel (0.32 0.33 0.34 0.35)
can't survive this test:
simple task with ~3KHz periodicity (makes some calculation) running
together with normal task "cat </dev/zero >/var/tmp/zero_file"
After a while linux goes completely down (and not because of
disk overfull).
This doesn't happen when I use RTC and RT_FIFO scheduler,
but it could have only 2KHz or 4KHz periodicity and also
I sometimes miss even 60 interrupts because of IDE data transfer.
I suspect that it is the problem with bad IRQ handling with RTL.
What will happen with SCSI or is there any other solution
for my problem ??? (I need 3KHz task with hardrive & net access)
