Hello Olga.
Olga reported:

LJ bought "first serial right, non-exclusive reprint rights and
non-exclusive right to grant reprint permission to others, and the
right to publish the article on LJ's web site".
Therefore, my permission is all you need.
Art wondered:

Yes. "The author retains all other rights, in cluding, but not limited
to the right to use the work after publication."
There is a contract stating that, so you can go ahead without concerns.
Actually, I am planning to collect all of my LJ articles and publish them
on my web site clarifying the reprint is allowed (I write free software
*and* free documentation -- unless a publishing house goes in
the path :)
BTW: if you want to use parts of "Linux Device Drivers", you might
ask O'Reilly and Associates. I suspect they are willing to allow partial
reprints.
Best Regards
/alessandro (who's leaving in a few hours and won't be connected for 2 weeks).
