[rtl] REPOST
The following message was originally posted by Christophe <cbi@februar.pax.priv.no>
Since it didn't make it to the list, I am reposting it for him.

Hello everyone,
this is my first posting to this list.
I have tried to install rtlinux, but no luck.
I've tried using the 2.0.29, 2.0.35, 2.1.90 versions,
but without any success. (Note that I have compiled
plenty of linux kernels, but I am a total newbie when it comes to
rtl).
I manage to apply the patch and compile the kernel as
explained in the setup instructions, but when I
reboot my system, it says no.
I expected the 2.0.35 version to be the most stable,
so I've spent most time with this kernel, but it still fails.
On reboot I get something like:
[<00800000>] repeated 8 times on each row.
Sometimes the memory address (?) vary .
These rows/lines are repeated many times.
At the end I have a row starting with:
[<0010a6ce>] and 8 more quite similar addresses.
The next line is:
Code: ff d1 83 c4 04 85 db 75 e5 31 c0 89 c3 87 1d 78 62 17 00 85
And then it says:
idle task may not sleep
and this sentence is repeated a few times.
Then the machine is locked, Alt-Ctrl-Del doesn't do anything,
and I have to reach to the power button.
What am I doing wrong ?
It's probably just a simple thing, but I am stuck.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
-christophe birkeland
PS: I always download new source from www.kernel.org before
applying the patch and compiling the kernel.
PPS: I only have a 700MB harddisk, but this should be enough ?
