Um, if I understand correctly, there will be direct communication between 
RTLinux and your SCSI card/drive, under the normal architecture.  That 
is, unless you are looking to bring the scsi driver into the RT task.  
That would be EXTREMELY INTERESTING!!!!  

If you are planning on using a regular Linux driver (ie, through the VFS), 
then compatibility is no problem at all.  Look out for power/heat 
problems.  Drives are getting hotter and hotter. -kurt
