[rtl] xdm & runlevel 5...

Hi all,

I'm new to rtl:  In bringing up Release 9F on 2.0.35 all works well except
that X11 won't allow system /sbin/shutdown when started with xdm, though it
presents no problems when started with startx. I assume that setting
/etc/inittab initdefault to runlevel 5 in order to initiate xdm is the
culprit, though I could find no faq, archive or other doc disallowing same.
Can someone point me at a proper X11 run procedure --
