Re: [rtl] Can RTLinux run on PC104?
Hi Janet,
The Linux drivers (for kernel 2.0.x and 2.2.x) for DiskOnChip 2000 is available
at M-systems web site under Technical support S/W download. They used to have
a document which descibes the steps of getting a Linux system to boot with DOC.
But I can not find it just now. So, perhaps you can ask their tech. support for
the document.
I have configured a 72MB one with s regular Linux system using 2.0.30 kernel
over 8 month ago. The basic steps are:
1. Recompile the kernel to support the DOC.
2. Restart the system and make sure you can use DOC as a regular file system.
3. Poplulate the DOC with the root file system structure.
4. Restart with a kernel that support DOC on a floppy.
5. Configure LILO to boot from DOC.
6. Run some DOS utility command to change DOC boot section ??
(not sure what exactly that is)
When I did it last time, the step nubmer 5 requires a patched LILO for it to
work properly. Once you have a DOC configured and boot up correctly, it is easy
to use their DOS utility to retrieve the data on the chip and put it on another
one.
Hope this helps,
