In a private mail, Victor has corrected a mis-statement in my previous 
mail. On Tuesday 30 January 2001 01:58 pm, I wrote:

This is not true. He has never made such a statement and has in fact 
resisted pressure to make such a statement. Oops. I was wrong. Sorry 
about that.
